New Animal Care and Education Center now Open!!


 Our new 19,500 square foot facility is open.  However, we ask for your patience and co-operation as it is still a work in progress.  For the next several months, work will continue on the exterior and the interior.  Our Obedience Training Center will open for classes the first week in January.  Please come visit!

Potter League Candlelight Memorial Celebration

Date:  Wednesday, December 10
Time:  6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Place: Potter League for Animals, 87 Oliphant Lane in Middletown

We gather at the Potter League to celebrate all the animals that have touched our lives. Some are still with us but many more have passed and it is with both love and admiration of their spirit that we light a candle and honor them all.  A $10 donation is appreciated at the door. Refreshments served following the celebration.
 


Potter League Recognized for Excellence in Business

Christie Smith, executive director of the Potter League, accepts the 2008 Excellence in Business AwardBusiness Award in the Nonprofit category from Keith Stokes, executive director of the Newport County Chamber of Commerce.  The Excellence in Business Awards, hosted by the Newport County Chamber of Commerce, is designed to celebrate the outstanding achievements of local businesses and recognize the vital role they play in the economic wellbeing of our community.


Have A Heart Cocktail Party and Silent Auction

On Monday, February 9, the Potter League will hold its largest and most important fundraiser of the year, the Have A Heart Cocktail Party and Silent Auction at the Hotel Viking in Newport. We are reaching out to businesses and individuals in the community to support our event by donating a gift item or gift certificate.  We also have some excellent sponsorship opportunities available.  Please contact Susan or by phone 846-0592 for details or if you wish to donate an item for our silent auction. Last year, with your help, we raised a record $89,000 and we plan to do even better this year!  Thank you for your support of the animals!

Concerned about coyotes in your neighborhood?  The Potter League, in collaboration with the Conservation Agency's Narragansett Bay Coyote Study, has established a great resource to get your questions answered. Call 924-HOWL (4695) to speak with a knowledgeable wildlife expert! Individuals concerned about immediate safety issues are asked to call their local police department.
